Attendees at this half-day event will explore the social implications and the impact of globalization of the web as a platform rather than an application. Through a variety of presentations and perspectives on how Web 2.0 is growing in importance as a service-oriented, cost-effective model, we will explore the environments in which the next generations of the web can operate and change government. Featured speaker is Mr. David Weinberger, co-author of the "Cluetrain Manifesto", a website about the transformational impact of the internet on business. Mr. Weinberger currently serves as a fellow at the Berkman Center for the Internet and Society of Harvard Law School. He was Senior Internet Advisor to Howard Dean's 2004 presidential campaign. Panelists Include: David Wennergren, Deputy DOD Chief Information Officer (Moderator); Bruce Klein, Director of Public Sector Group, Cisco; Anthony Williams, VP nGenera (Canada) and co-author of Wikinomics; Mike Bradshaw, Director, Enterprise Federal, Google.

Lena Trudeau will be on the advisory board for this conference which will highlight how the public IT industry will be affected by the administration change.

Members of The National Academy of Public Administration will be gathering together for their annual fall meeting. The conference will in part be a celebration of certain fellows who are being inducted into the NAPA family.
